Before visiting a tutor, you should:

  1. Review the last reading or chapter you have been assigned for the course.
  2. Plan your visit; do not wait until the last possible minute. Allow yourself time to complete your assignment after you see a tutor.
  3. Check with the current schedule to see whether there are tutors in the subject you need and when they are available.
  4. Be prepared to wait for a while before you see a tutor; bring along other work to keep yourself busy while you are waiting.
  5. Make sure you know the course number and section for which you need help. You will be asked for this information before tutoring begins.
  6. Most importantly, please bring your textbook and any class notes which are relevant to the questions you have. This will help the tutor to figure out how the material has been presented and then be better prepared to help you.
